Woodland Spring is the story of spring-blooming woodland wildflowers of the eastern US. It will include photographs and descriptions, closeups and landscapes. It will tell the "story of spring" in the forests from Iowa to New Jersey and Michigan to North Carolina and Tennesse. And from time to time, I will include photos that are completely different, just for the fun of it.
Here is a shot of skunk cabbage flowers, very close up. I was able to peer inside the "hood" of the flower to get this shot. I used my 200 mm micro lens, which allowed me to focus closely and get a good clear image. This was taken in late March 2006 near the Blue Ridge Parkway in a rural area near Floyd, VA.

I love to do nature photography, especially wildflowers, especially during the spring. But anytime of year is ok with me, as long there aren't too many mosquitoes.
