Skunk Cabbage Patch

This isn't exactly a photogenic photo, but it shows the landscape where the skunk cabbages thrive. See below for more info about skunk cabbages. It's a wet boggy area where the ground is composed of MUD. I did not step in this area for fear of damaging the plants and making an absolute mess.

Yes it's like a planet with spikey domes or something... It is a really neat place but so fragile. If I had tried to step in the area shown, my feet would have sunk into the mud. So I kept my distance and went further down stream to where the soil is more sandy and I could get closer to the plants without wrecking them.
