Rosy Twisted Stalk

Caterpillar on Rosy Twisted Stalk, Streptopus roseus on April 27, 2006, near the Cove Hardwood Forest on Newfound Gap Road in the Smokies. A closeup view of the stem shows how this plant got its common name. As for the flowers, I have not yet photographed those. Stay tuned and I will try to get to it sometime this month.
